Okay I saw the reviews and was concerned. But being a Ranger fan this turned out to be a pretty good book. Especially when she manages to destroy not one but two of Ranger's porsches:). This is one of the reasons I like reading Janet's books - the humor. Okay 11 is still my favorite, but this will be up there.

Coming from a customer who has read all the Plum books multiple times (except the in-between numbers) and someone who visits Evanovich's site a couple of times a week, I have to say, I'm losing a little faith. I read 1-13 all at once and loved all of them for the humor and sass. But 14, Spooky, and 15...what happened?? I was excited to find out that Ranger would be the main man in this book, but there was no sexual tension at all! It felt completely stale. What happened to the man of mystery we ......

I will make this short and sweet. I have loved the Stephanie Plum novels from number One (pun intended). I've even read the "between the novels" books. I so love these characters, largely because they were developed so well in the first few novels of the series. Although I don't relate directly with Stephanie very often, I like her so much that she could easily be a girlfriend. But, this novel is just superficial fluff with no depth; no further character development. It's so far from any kind of reality that I can no longer relate. It seems at least half of this book involves descriptions of bodily functions. I'm not 15 years old; I don't enjoy......

I've read the entire Plum series and was pleased, but not thrilled by this installment. Her early books were the best, IMO. The books have just become repetitive: a Stephanie ping-pong match between Ranger and Morelli, exploding cars, bungled apprehensions, and funny but improbable perps. I actually don't blame Janet for this, I think she is capable of much more. I suspect this comes from a publisher who says," You have a formula that works, don't change anything!" The problem is she's stagnatin......
